Farmers advised to monitor rice crop

Pest warning, quality control and pesticides wing of the Punjab agriculture department has reported attack of bacterial blight on rice crop in some areas of Sahiwal and Okara and attack of bakanai in Kamoke, Pasrur and Hafizabad. The department has advised the farmers to conduct regular monitoring of their rice crop and on finding attack of these diseases should consult a local expert of the agriculture department and spray appropriate fungicide on his advice.
The department has also advised the farmers that they should uproot the affected plants and bury them so as the disease attack should not increase and crop could be saved from further damage.
