PML-N decides to hold party elections this year

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in a meeting held with Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the chair decided to hold the party elections this year to complete the reorganisation process of the party. Sources in the PML-N told Business Recorder that members of the committee which was entrusted the task of finalising recommendations for reorganisation of the party, presented its recommendations and the Thursday's meeting accorded approval of the same.
The meeting that was held at Raiwind and attended by Raja Zafarul Haq, Iqbal Zafar Jhaggra, Khawaja Mohammad Asif, Ahsan Iqbal and Chaudhry Jaffer Iqbal among others. Sources claimed that Nawaz Sharif asked for completing the reorganisation process till September so that party elections for district, provincial and central set up could be held. It was also decided to take feedback from the party activists at tehsil and district levels for further strengthening the party across the country.
Nawaz called for strengthening the party organisation which is key to political strength and success on every front. He said the PML-N needs to absorb all those who have always been taking steadfast stand with PML-N during the past 10 years. He directed that the party should start its membership drive soon after Eid-ul-Fitr which was deferred due to the political situation in the country. The membership drive should be carried using all latest techniques, he added.
