Security forces have killed seven terrorists, including five foreigners, arrested four while two bunkers and two hideouts were demolished. Huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosive was recovered during the ongoing operation "Rah-e-Raast" in Swat and other parts of Malakand division.
A spokesman of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said here on Friday, the security forces, during their search operation in Thana area of Malakand came under terrorists' assault. As a result, the security forces retaliated, killing five foreign militants in the fierce battle.
Huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosive was also recovered from their possession, he said, adding that the bodies of the foreign terrorists had been placed in the local hospital for identification. The spokesman said that a suspected terrorist, detained by locals, was handed over to the security forces at village Khazana of Zara Khela area of Swat Valley.
The security forces carried out search operation between Ningulai and Kanju during which they killed two terrorists, he added. He said that the security forces have arrested three suspected terrorists during another search operation in Kukrai and Dangram areas of Swat.
The security forces carried out yet another search operation in Alamganj near Waliabad, and recovered 22 bombs of 60 mm mortar and arrested a terrorist from Gulibagh, he added. Besides, the forces had demolished two bunkers, constructed by the terrorists in Madyan area of Swat valley during a search operation, he said.
Security forces carried out search operation near Maidan area of Dir district and destroyed a terrorists' hideout and two houses. Meanwhile, the security forces continued their relief activities, as 273,123 cash cards had been distributed amongst the IDPs of Malakand, he added.
