3,500 tons of imported sugar arrives

A consignment of 3,500 tons imported sugar reached Karachi from Dubai on Saturday morning, transported by mv TF Dubai in 150 containers, which docked at Karachi International Container Terminal (KICT), sources said. It was part of 50,000 tons sugar booked by Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) on emergency basis to meet shortage of the commodity in the country.
TCP had opened tender for the import of 50,000 tons. All imported sugar would be directly shifted to TCP godown, sources said. TCP has also issued two wheat import tenders, which would be opened during the second week of December.
