It was shocking to see such irresponsible piece of baseless and distorted reporting of Amir Majeed published in BR on 27th August under the caption 'Four senior directors of MOST sacked, six suspended'. Kindly, there is a need to check and verify the contents of a report, before publication, as that is tantamount, in its present format, to exploitation and breach of morality.
To set the record straight, the suspension and enquiries were ordered by the Minister of Science and Technology in the affairs of PSQCA in the last week of June-July, 2008 when a number of officers were screened and enquired. In all this matter, the inclusion of the names of Iqbal Qureshi - former Director Quality Control Centre and Abdul Rauf Khan Kirmani - Director Standardisation in the list seems malafide as both the officers left their active service on 15th April, 2009 after the termination of contract.
Both officers' contribution strengthened as nationally as well in the international forum, with their sincerity and commitment. Kindly check the enviable service record of their institutions and the ministry for verification. The malafide intention to punish the already retired personnel is really regrettable and needs to be rectified.
