National Institute of Blood Disease and Bone Marrow Transplantation under the patronage of Pakistan Society of Haematology is organising "Haematology Conference 2009" from October 15-18 in Karachi. Highlights of the conference include workshops on Homeostasis, Hb disorders, immuno-hematology and haematopathology followed by plenary sessions on Thalassanemia and Hemostasis.
Symposia on paediatric hematology, hematological issues in women, apharesis, stem cells, lymphoma, leukaemia, platelet disorders, lab haematology and quality control were also scheduled for the four day event, he said. Abstracts, he said could be submitted in different categories for as red cell membrane disorders; red cell enzymopathy; Hb disorders; paediatric leukaemia; paediatric lymphoma; neonatal haematological problems; bone marrow failure syndrome; Aplastic anaemia; congenital platelet disorders; acquired platelet disorders-von Willebrand disease.
Other topics to be discussed and deliberated upon will include Hemophilia; rare bleeding disorders; quality control; lab haematology; thrombophilia; DIC; consumption coagulopathy; stem cells regenerative medicine; Iron chelation therapy; Supportive care; apharesis; BMT; plasma cell disorders; Hogkins disease; disorders of iron; disorders of haematinics; HDN; anti-coagulation; transfusion reactions; transfusion transmitted infections.
