Shafqat Chohan, a member of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA), has announced to file an appeal before the Supreme Court (SC) against the Lahore High Court (LHC)'s decision pertaining to the sugar crisis.
Addressing a press conference here Saturday, Chohan revealed that he had filed a petition before the LHC in the suo motu proceedings initiated by the court in August against the sugar crisis and had prayed to constitute a commission to look into the matter however, the court ignored his plea.
He told the newsmen that he would request the apex court to constitute a commission to identify the persons and authorities responsible for the crisis and punish them in accordance with the law. He informed that the major points that might be raised before the apex court includes cancellation of tenders called by TCP, why TCP didn't bring its stocks in the market and why loan recovery method was changed.
