As per decision of the Punjab Bar Council, lawyers of Multan have also decided not to appear before the PCO judges to plead their cases and they appealed to Chief Justice of High Court not to post Justice Muhammad Khalid Alvi in Multan bench otherwise they would lodge a protest.
Malik Asif Vice Chairman of PBC on Wednesday refused to plead his case before Justice Muhammad Khalid Alvi of the Lahore High Court, who had taken oath under the November 3 PCO. When a petition of Malik Asif came for hearing before Justice Alvi, Asif refused to plead his case. He contended that he was an elected representative of the lawyers of the province and lawyers had rejected the PCO judges.
The lawyers did not accept the PCO judges as judges of the LHC and hence he did not like to plead his cases before them, Asif said. Upon this, Justice Alvi observed that how long the issue would continue. Malik responded that the lawyers had decided the issue now it was up to the authorities who had to decide their fate.
