No loadshedding in country: ministry

The Ministry of Water and Power has said that no electricity shortfall was reported on Saturday due to which there was no loadshedding in the country. According to Ministry's spokesman, due to change in weather the demand has reduced and there was no gap between electricity demand and supply.
He said total power generation reported on Saturday was 13,406 MW while demand was 13,406 MW and no shortfall was reported today which was 100 MW on the same period during last year. He said around 660 MW was exported to Karachi Electricity Corporation (KESC).
Meanwhile, an official of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) said that the company has also temporarily reduced the loadshedding hours in its region due to reduction in power demand and supply gap. He said National Power Control Centre (NPCC) has also reduced its loadshedding quota for IESCO due to improvement in power situation.
He said instead of three to five hours load shedding in a day there is only one hour load shedding in the IESCO region. He however, said that load shedding duration can be increased or decreased as per requirement in over populated or over loaded areas which depends on overall power situation.
He advised the company's customers that they may get load shedding programme from IESCO helpline 118 or Chief Executive Complaint and Monitoring Cell established at IESCO headquarters on toll free No:0800-25250 or their Sub Divisional Complaint offices, whose numbers are given on their electricity bills.
