Four narcotics smugglers including CAA plumber held

Anti-Narcotics Force Punjab have arrested four alleged narcotics smugglers including a plumber of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and recovered four kg heroin worth over Rs 30 million here at Allama Iqbal International Airport. Anti Narcotics Force Lahore Commander Brigadier Sajjad Ahmad Bakhushi told this while addressing a press conference in his office here on Saturday.
Giving details, ANF Commander said that ANF received secret information that heroin was being smuggled through airport. He said ANF kept vigil to nab the smugglers and succeeded in arresting the employee of CAA Abdus Sattar and three other accused on his pointation.
He said the CAA plumber took Rs 100,000 per one kg heroin from them and the contraband was sent to UK. About the modus operandi of the accused, he said, accomplices of the plumber threw heroin in the airport area from outer fence. Sattar collected and concealed it in pipes in bathrooms which was later taken by the smugglers before boarding flights.
