Japanese electronics giant Sony said on September 2 it aimed to bring 3D television screens into homes next year, a technology usually found in the cinema at present. Sony said on the margins of the IFA - the world's largest consumer electronics fair which opens to the public on Thursday - that it would "lead the commercialisation of 3D by bringing 3D to the home in 2010."
The firm also said it would make other products, such as its VAIO laptops, Blu-ray disc players and Playstation game consoles, compatible with the new technology.
