An accidental bomb blast in south-west Nepal killed at least three people including two children, police said Sunday. Police said a former member of the Nepal Army was handling the bomb when it went off.
"Two persons died on the spot and one succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital," police officer Dansingh Bhat told AFP by telephone from Kailali district, 440 kilometres (275 miles) south-west of Kathmandu. The officer said another five people were injured, of whom four were in critical condition.
