Five people are dead after a small plane crashed amid heavy fog in north-east Oklahoma. The Piper aircraft was on its way to Dallas on Saturday when it crashed into a park near a baseball field in Tulsa. Investigators said the six-passenger plane may have hit a guide wire from a communications tower that wasn't visible because of fog.
Authorities said two adult males, an adult female and two juvenile females were killed. Their names haven't been released. No one on the ground was injured.
Highway Patrol Lieutenant George Brown said the plane left Jones Riverside Airport in Tulsa at 10:37 am (1537 GMT), headed for Dallas. It crashed about 30 minutes later.
Brown said Federal Aviation Administration investigators are headed to the scene.
