Malaysian shares closed down 0.47 percent Wednesday on profit-taking in blue chips, dealers said. The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index lost 5.61 points to 1,196.46. Decliners outnumbered advancers 437 to 229.
Losers included gaming group Genting which lost 4.20 percent to 6.87 ringgit while plantation giant Sime Darby was down 1.30 percent to 8.49. Among gainers, plantation group IOI Corp added 1.50 percent to 5.34 ringgit and Dayang rose 2.20 percent to 1.39 ringgit.
