Plane hijacked in Mexico

An Aeromexico flight from the popular Mexican tourist resort of Cancun was hijacked Wednesday with 104 people on board and landed in Mexico City, officials and media reported. "An Aeromexico was hijacked at Cancun airport and has landed in the airport in the Mexican capital," said an official with the prosecutors office.
Witnesses said about 100 people were seen leaving the plane as it stood on the tarmac at the capital city's airport, as unconfirmed media reports claimed the hijackers were carrying explosives.
President Felipe Calderon was already at the airport after the hijackers, said to be three Bolivians, demanded to speak to him, the reports added. Transport Secretary Francisco Orcasitas said the plane had been "isolated from other operations" at the airport, but refused to confirm how many hijackers were on board, and who they were. Mexican online media reports said Aeromexico Flight 576 had 104 people on board when it left Bolivia before making a stopover in Cancun en route for Mexico City.
