An Indian Air Force (IAF) MiG-21 fighter jet crashed in the northern state of Punjab Thursday, killing its pilot, a news report said. The aircraft, which was on a routine training sortie, crashed near a village in the western district of Muktsar after taking off from the Bhatinda air force base in the state, the Times Now TV network reported.
The pilot was killed on the scene and senior IAF officials had reached the crash site to investigate the crash.
