The Dow Jones industrial average was up 44.29 points, or 0.46 percent, at 9,591.51. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 5.06 points, or 0.49 percent, at 1,038.43. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 11.61 points, or 0.56 percent, at 2,072.00.
