The executive committee, All Pakistan Commercial Exporters Association (APCEA) has dismayed over the reconstitution of the Board of Management (BoM) of Gems and Gemological Institute of Pakistan (GGIP).
A meeting of the executive committee held with chairman APCEA, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi in the chair termed the decision of the Export Development Fund (EDF) as one sided and violation of the agreement signed between Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and APCEA on December 16, 2000. The meeting unanimously decided to inform the federal minister for commerce of their apprehensions and seeking time for holding meeting with him.
Those who attended the meeting were included Mushtaq Ahmad, Mumtaz Khan, Itbar Khan, Farhan Khan, Zia-ur-Rehman and Shehzad. Deputy leader United Group, Mazhar-ul-Haq, Leader Ainee Group, Dr Khushal Khan Mohmand and leader Progressive Group, Imran Nazir attended as observers. The newly elected member executive, Syed Ihtesham Hussein Kazmi and Faqir Hussein were also present in the meeting.
The chairman APCEA congratulated the newly elected members of executive and Mazhar-ul-Haq as member of the executive committee of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and appreciated the services of the outgoing members executive. The meeting also paid tributes to the election commission for holding peaceful and transparent polls. The meeting took exception to the fake resignation and decided to issue notices to the members who had submitted the resignation and seek explanation from them.
