NWFP Senior Minister and Parliamentary Leader of the ANP, Bashir Ahmad Bilour, felicitating President Asif Ali Zardari on completing the 1st parliamentary year of his office, said the ANP government was quite satisfied with his performance and political acumen.
In a statement, he said the President helped the provincial government tackling a number of challenges including that of terrorism as he isolated the terrorists from the people by signing the Nizam-e-Adl Regulation in Malakand on the request of the provincial government. The people and Pakistan army jointly uprooted terrorism and dismantled terror networks successfully, he added.
Similarly, he said the President showed his political sagacity by giving autonomy to the northern areas, adding the President always called the NWFP as Pakhtoonkhwa according to the wishes of its people on world forums like the UN General Assembly, the Great Hall of China and every other international occasion which depicted his commitment and sincerity with the people of the province.
Bilour said, "President Zardari also conceded to our five demands in the continuing NFC award sessions, including the issue of hydel net profits, compensation of the losses suffered by the province due to terrorism, compensation for the after-affects of the prolonged stay of Afghan refugees, royalty for the water of the province used by the Punjab and Sindh as well as focusing on wheat and Atta (wheat flour) shortage in the province. We will also get provincial autonomy owing to the bold political steps of the President."
