Department of Administrative Sciences of the Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) has launched a weekly seminar to keep the students updated with the current practices/scenario of corporate world. The objective of the seminar is to update students about the current processes involved in the implementation of the recruitment and selection function of Human Resource (HR) and to inform about the various recruitment channels and their effectiveness.
The programmes aim at determining the role played by recruiters/employers during the recruitment process and highlighting how human resource professionals find a "good match" considering organisational requirements. The first seminar of the fall 2009 semester was held on the topic of "Recruitment and Selection Process in the Corporate World" here on Friday.
Ayesha Asad, holding MBA from the University of Leicester, UK with 26 years of practical experience related to Human Resource Management and Administration was the main speaker who shared her experiences with the students of MBA and MPA.
She said that the goal of recruiting was to give enough information about the job to attract a large number of qualified applicants and, at the same time, to discourage the unqualified from applying. "This recruitment process varies from organisation to organisation. However, successful recruitment is finding an individual who is best suited for the job requirements".-PR
