Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta), Punjab has decided to establish modern vocational training institutes at tehsil level across the province to produce skilled workers to cater to the needs of local industry. The Tevta has also decided to initiate agro-based support courses for farmers to
enable them for mechanised farming to increase per acre yield at the lowest possible input cost. Official sources said here, on Sunday, that the Tevta was imparting training and technical and vocational education to lacs of youth annually in the province under various disciplines.
And now it was contemplating to train 0.5 million youth annually in different trades and number of new initiatives are being introduced shortly to initiate market-oriented skill training programmes which would go long way to alleviate poverty and unemployment in the province.
