Sindh suffered a lot during tenure of dictators: Qaim

The Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that Sindh had suffered a lot during the tenure of dictatorship but now the every injustice made with Sindh province will be accounted for in this democratic government which achieved by the great sacrifices of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers and leaders.
He said this while addressing a big public gathering on 26th death anniversary of PPP workers who laid down their lives during the Movement for Restoration of Democracy (MRD) on September 12, 1983 held at Khairpur Nathan Shah this evening.
Addressing the gathering, Qaim said that in addition to committing atrocities on the innocent people of Sindh for their love and affiliation with PPP, the Sindh province was deprived from its due share of water, NFC Award and employment quota. But the brave people of Sindh remained stick with the party in these difficult days, he added. He said that though Sindh was rich with the natural resources, but we will get due share from centre because we already owed many more to centre and subsequently we intend to utilise these resources for the welfare of people of Sindh to compensate them.
He said that since its existence PPP was facing the conspiracies being hatched by its opponents and added that after martyr of Benazir Bhutto, some elements challenged us that PPP could not get 50 seats of MPA in the election but with grace of Almighty Allah and support of masses we won the 169 MPA seats under the dynamic leadership of Co-Chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari. He said that Zardari possesses great vision and following the strategies and policies of Benazir Bhutto successfully. He said that his calibre can be gauged from this fact that he ejected President Musharraf from presidency without any blood shed and now running the democratic government under the reconciliation with all the political parties.
He said that 40,000 acres cultivated land has been distributed among the farmers out of which 25 acres land has been given to each female farmer. He said that 28,000 farmers were benefited from this scheme. In addition to that 40,000 youths have been provided job skill training in different trades and 75,000 more youths would be provided same training during this year. He said that Taluka Hospital of Khairpur Nathan Shah has been repaired and renovated at this stage but it will also be upgraded up to the par of hospitals in Hyderabad. He also announced for establishment of a Cadet College in the area for quality education.
The Sindh Chief Minister also presented job letters to the heirs of 10 martyrs on the occasion and announced that they will also be provided plots for residential purposes. He said that we have already provided the flats each of more than Rs 70 lacs to the heirs of martyrs of October 18, 2007.
Earlier, the Senior Sindh Minister, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq in his address announced for the establishment of Engineering College in the Khirpur Nathan Shah. Taking without name, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq said that some depressed political leaders have made alliance after being rejected from every political party and masses.
Addressing at the gathering, the Sindh Law Minister, Ayaz Soomro said that PPP is the martyrs' party and heirs of martyrs would be given jobs on priority basis. He said that it has been remained a tradition that whenever PPP came into power the anti democratic elements start speaking against it and hatching conspiracies to derail the democracy.
The Sindh Home Minister, Zulfiqar Ali Mirza in his address said that he will do his best to eliminate the criminal elements and their supporters from the area. He said that some influential people have made their trend to grab over government land and made it clear that same would also be dealt with iron hands. He said that to provide peaceful atmosphere to people was the slogan of PPP and he termed it as basic right of the people. He warned the criminal elements to refrain from their criminal activities or to face music. On this occasion UC Nazim Sindhi Butra Liaquat Ali Chandio announced to join PPP with his supporters.
Earlier, the Sindh Chief Minister soon after his arrival inaugurated the monuments named after the martyrs of MRD, which was constructed at Rs 2.6 million. Later, the Sindh Chief Minister inaugurated repair and rehabilitation of Taluka Hospital K.N. Shah and its operation theater, which finalised at the cost of Rs 16 million.
The Senior Sindh Minister Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, Law Minister. Ayaz Soomro, Home Minister. Zulfiqar Mirza, MNA Talat Mehsar, MPAs Imran Zaffar Leghari, Kusoom Chandio, Rashida Panhwar and other leaders of PPP, officers of the provincial and district governments were accompanied the Sindh Chief Minister during his visit.
