Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed Punjab Textbook Board (PTB) to evolve a comprehensive strategy for provision of books to students, as it is essential for polishing their talent and equipping them with the latest knowledge. He was talking to Ameena Saiyid of Oxford University Press here on Monday. Secretary Schools and Chairman Punjab Textbook Board were also present on the occasion.
Chief Minister appreciated the quality of printing and standard of the books published by Oxford University Press. He said the Punjab government is taking revolutionary measures for uplift of education sector and special attention is being paid to the provision of high standard books in schools and colleges.
"Provision of quality books on science, mathematics, computer and other subjects to students is the responsibility of Punjab Textbook Board and it should take solid measures for this purpose," he added. Earlier, Ameena Saiyid said Oxford University Press is publishing books of high standard on all subjects for schools and colleges while guides are also published for teachers.
