Modest trading was seen on the wholesale grain and seed market on Wednesday as some buyers were busy in covering the short position ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, dealers said. On the cereal side sugar gained Rs 50 to Rs 4800-4900 and gur superior type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 6900 and low type did not move any side at Rs 6000, they said.
On the grams side gram Punjab was lower by Rs 100 to Rs 2300-3000, bajra low type was down by Rs 10 to Rs 1550 while the best type did not show any change in process of trading, they said. On the seed side rapeseed Nawabshah low type was up by Rs 40 to Rs 1440 and good type gained Rs 25 to Rs 1450 due to slight improvement in demand, they said.
