Misuse of power: action against five policemen directed

Taking serious notice of public complaints, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar has ordered strict legal and disciplinary action against five police officials on the charges of corruption and abuse of power.
The IGP issued these orders on the applications of the citizens presented in the CPO here on Saturday. A resident of Vehari Muhammad Mumtaz alleged that SHO Flik Sher of PS Luddon registered fake cases against him. The IG ordered District Police Officer Vehari to register case against the said official after holding inquiry in this regard.
Another citizens Muhammad Yousaf alleged that SI Anwar of PS Hujra Shah Muqeem has not yet arrested the accused nominated in his case despite receiving bribe from him. On this, the IG directed District Police Officer Okara to take disciplinary action against the said official in case of proving charges.
Likewise, a resident of Muzzafargarh Abdul Aziz alleged that SI Nazir Javed and ASI Rab Nawaz of PS Seitpur have not yet arrested the accused despite receiving bribe from him.
The IG ordered Regional Police Officer D.G Khan to take legal and disciplinary action against these officials in case of proving charges. Similarly, Salamat Ali alleged that SI Rana Rauf of PS Factory Area Sheikhupura raided his house with five unknown persons and took away buffalo, mobile phone and cash. The IG ordered Regional Police Officer Sheikhupura to take strict disciplinary action against officials after holding inquiry into the matter.
