'PML-N to take more pro-poor initiatives'

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership was determined to serve the people whole-heartedly in order to resolve their problems and economic hardships, the PML-N senior leader and political advisor to Chief Minister, Mohammad Pervaiz Malik said while addressing party workers here on Wednesday.
"The PML-N government will take more pro-poor initiatives in the near future, which would provide more relief for the needy." Malik said that on the instructions of Nawaz Sharif, the PML-N led Punjab government had started development projects of billions of rupees in the province for the welfare of people. He added that subsidy of Rs 8 billion was given for providing subsidised atta, sugar and other essential items to the poor and deserving people during the month of Ramazan. Without a doubt, millions of poor people benefited from it.
Malik further said that the party leadership considered its workers, a real asset, and would solve their problems on priority basis. As a result of party re-organisation, the PML-N would be strengthened in all the provinces at grass-roots level, he added. Malik said, "Previous rulers did not do anything except making tall claims, whereas present government has started utilising all resources for the welfare of people."
