Muslims being targeted in name of war on terror: Jamaat-e-Islami

24 Sep, 2009

Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hassan has said that Muslim Ummah is facing a tough time at the moment as all over the world Muslims are being targeted in the name of war on terrorism. He claimed that world powers had declared that every Muslim was a terrorist.
He said war on terrorism had promoted terrorism instead of eliminating it and rulers of the Muslim countries were providing all out support to US in this war. Munawar Hassan was addressing the masses at Jamia Mosque Mansoora on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr, said a JI spokesman here on Wednesday.
The JI Chief said that 'go US go' movement launched by Jamaat was not a mere slogan but a philosophy and lesson from history. He said JI movement was a peaceful movement and all the peaceful methods would be adopted for its success. He claimed when hundred of thousands of people would come on roads protesting against US, it would exert pressure on the government and US to leave this region. Munawar Hassan averred that Eid had come with a message for launching a massive movement.
He alleged that an American cantonment was being built in Islamabad in the name of expansion of US embassy. Officials of notorious Black Water organisation were coming to Pakistan from Afghanistan but rulers were playing the role of silent spectators. He said that there was no body to notice the spread of black water organisation throughout the country and the Parliament should take note of it, he concluded.
