People in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad continued thronging to popular recreational spots during the Eid days to enjoy one of the greatest Islamic festivals. The main destinations included Rawal Lake View Park, Rawal Dam, Fatima Jinnah Park, Shakarparian, Daman-e-Koh and Pir Sohawa in the capital, while in Rawalpindi Nawaz Sharif Park and Ayub Park were stuffed with recreation-loving people, belonging to all age groups and segments of society.
"It's really very exciting to enjoy happy occasion of Eid at the aesthetically developed recreational spot," said Syed Zahid Hussain, who had come to Rawal Lake View Park on Wednesday along with his family. He said that he had invited some of his relatives at the Park and would serve them there instead of home.
"We had a lot of fun here during the first two days of Eid and are hoping to enjoy the last day of our holidays in the same passion," he added. Although, there was very little transport on the roads and taxi drivers were charging exorbitantly, yet many people who did not have their own conveyance also managed to reach the recreational spots to enjoy the serene and calm atmosphere.
"I regularly visit Daman-e-Koh to enjoy the scenic beauty but the pleasure multiplies during the Eid days," said Nauman Ali at one of the main picnic spots in the Capital. There were a large number of motor vehicles at parking areas of Daman-e-Koh, Pir Sohawa and other spots during all the days of Eid that has not been the case during the holy month of Ramazan. The parking places fell short of capacity to accommodate the vehicles in such a large number.
