Pakistan invites UNWTO chief

Ministry of Tourism has invited United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Chief Francesco Frangialli to visit Pakistan.
The invitation was extended to UNWTO Secretary General by Parliamentary Secretary Ministry of Tourism Mufti Ajmal Khan at a meeting held on Sunday on the sidelines of the World Tourism Destinations 2009 Fair organised in Tianjin from September 18.
Parliamentary Secretary Mufti Ajmal who led his country's tourism delegation and participated in the inauguration ceremony of the fair at Tianjin told APP here on Monday that during his stay he met with tourism delegations from various countries and exchanged view on promotion of tourism in Pakistan.
Mufti Ajmal also attended the dinner hosted by the Mayor of Tianjin for the participating countries. He also visited different popular tourists interest spots.
The tourism departments from Azad Kashmir, Sindh, Ministry of Tourism, PTDC and private operators participated and distributed tourism promotional materials and displayed traditional handicrafts. Over 25 countries and regions took part in the Tianjin tourism fair. Pakistan will participate in the World Tourism Destinations Fair in Hangzhou starting from September 21. The Hangzhou fair is being held concurrently alongwith Asia Pacific exhibition in which Pakistan will also participate.
