Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Secretary General, International Affairs, Sheikh Kaiser Mehmood, has said that the countrymen rejected the Pakistan Muslim League-Q and its leadership in the last general elections due to its anti-people and anti-democracy policies. The PML-N leader said that Chaudhry brothers could not hoodwink the people by levelling baseless allegations against the government.
He said Q-League leadership was facing utter disappointment due to their misdeeds in the past. He praised Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for introducing far-reaching reforms in different sectors, including education and health sectors, while Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi during his regime destroyed the state institutions in Punjab.
He said that Pervez Musharraf and Pervaiz Elahi repeatedly committed mistakes just to save dictatorial system. All the crises, including flour, sugar and power loadshedding, were created during the rule of Q-League, he added. He said that Chaudhry brothers instead of working for democracy and strengthening of economy, provided shelter to dictatorship.
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab Malik Mohammad Afzal Khokhar, MNA, took strong exception to recent statement of the Punjab Governor about Blasphemy Act. He said that Western agents would never succeed in their designs aimed at repealing the Blasphemy Act. He said that Governor was hatching a conspiracy to create unrest in the country. He said the misuse of Blasphemy Act could be checked, but it could not be abolished or amended.
