Foreign Secretaries of Pakistan and India Saturday had "useful exchange of views" ahead of an important meeting, being held on Sunday between the foreign ministers of the two countries. "We had a useful exchange of views," Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupoma Rao told the media persons after meeting with her counterpart, Salman Bashir, which lasted for more than two hours.
Pakistani Foreign Secretary told a questioner that their parleys focused on the Foreign Ministers' meeting. "Our focus was on tomorrow's meeting" between the foreign ministers of the two countries, said Salman Bashir. The United States has expressed the hope that the two neighbouring countries would agree on taking steps to improve their relations, carrying forward the peace process, which was derailed in the wake of November 2008 Mumbai attacks.
