Prices move down on slow pace of commodities business

Eid holidays were washed days of buying and selling activity on almost all commodities markets. Hence Thursday was the opening day of the week. Naturally the pace of business was slow and changes in price level only a few. Notable was rapeseed oilcake better type -with bag-(Sindh) was higher by Rs 10 at Rs970.
On Friday, as usual market players remained busy in preparation and offering Juma prayers there was no business to report. On Saturday declining trend in prices was seen as buyers were still expecting that prices would come further down due to steady supplies from upcountry centres. On the cereal side moong Punjab lost Rs 62 to Rs 3938, masoor dal, however, gained Rs 5 to Rs 10005-10007, other items did not move any side in process of trading.
On the grams side dal beetle lost Rs 150 to Rs 4050-4250 and bajra, best type did not show any change at Rs 1500 while the low type was down by Rs 50 to Rs 1500, they said. On the rice counter Irri-6 Sindh was sharply lower by Rs 350 to Rs 2250-2300 due to falling trend in the export front.
On Jodia Bazaar plastic moulding compounds closed lower. The changes were:

Saudia 952 edged down by Rs 2.50 to Rs 61, Mobil closed lower by Rs 2.25 to Rs 61 and TR144 moved downward by Rs 2.25 to Rs 61.
HDPE (BLOW): Kuwait went lower by Rs 2 to Rs 63 and Iran finished downward by Rs 2.25 to Rs 62. LLPE: W118 finished lower by Re 1 to Rs 61, 7087 moved downward by Re 1 to Rs 61 and Sabic 500026 was quoted at Rs 80.
POLYPROPYLEN (FILM): Thai moved down by Rs 1 to Rs 56, Kuwait closed lower by Re 1 to Rs 56 and India finished downward by Re 1 to Rs 56.
POLYPROPYLENE (TAPE GRADE): India edged down by Re 1 to Rs 56, Kuwait finished lower by Re 1 to Rs 55 and Saudia moved downward by Re 1 to Rs 55. POLYPROPYLENE (INJECTION GRADE): Saudia finished down by 25 paisa to Rs 55.75, India closed lower by 25 paisa to Rs 55.75 and Kuwait moved downward by 50 paisa to Rs 55.50. COPOLY: Block moved down by Rs 2 to Rs 64 and Randon was quoted at Rs 71.
HIGH IMPACT (Per bag): Pakistani was quoted Rs 3,813.
