Ulema of various schools of thought ought to play their due role in promoting religious harmony, brotherhood, tolerance and unity in the society and should extend all out co-operation to the government in eliminating terrorism and sectarian differences.
This was stated by Muhammad Pervez Rathore while talking to a delegation of Ulema that called upon him at Lahore Police Headquarters. The CCPO said that criminal elements are enemies of humanity and no leniency or laxity can be shown to those playing with life and property of innocent citizens. He said Islam is the religion of peace, tolerance and brotherhood and no Muslim can be involved in the bloodshed of any Muslim.
He said Jawans of Lahore Police have set glorious example of courage and sacrifice and have even laid down their lives while fighting terrorism. Rathore said the District Peace Committee has played a laudable role in promoting peace and sectarian harmony in the provincial metropolis and it was because of their positive and active role that peace is maintained in the city. CCPO said that the effective policy adopted by the Punjab Government for curbing terrorism and anti social activities has yielded positive results.
Ulema of various schools of thought assured the CCPO that they would extend all out co-operation to Lahore Police for elimination of serious crimes, including terrorism, in the city in order to defeat nefarious aims of such criminal elements who are out to create lawlessness and chaos in the country.
