Federal Minister for Population Welfare Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the assistance by Friends of Democratic Pakistan (FoDP) is a fulfilment of need-based demands by Pakistan government with friends nations as country suffered huge loss on the economic front during the war initiated after 9/11 attacks. She said this while talking to APP, on Sunday.
"Unfortunately, the previous government failed to take serious initiatives for involvement of allies in process for economic stability of Pakistan," she said. However, the vision of democratic government led by President Zardari and Premier Gilani proved 100 percent successful to seek global acknowledgement for our army and nation role in the war to safeguard people and economies around the world while putting ourselves on stake, she maintained.
The Federal Minister admitted that the war on terror did not protect public lives from the terrorist attacks but said that the war ensured stability of the economies of the different countries by averting the financial losses which could be ultimate product of the terrorist activities.
