State-run FM radio goes on air in Mirpur

The first state-run FM radio station has started functioning in Mirpur to provide day-to-day information and entertainment to the listeners of the liberated territory. President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Zulqarnain Khan Wednesday inaugurated the FM-93 in the premises of the Broadcasting House, Mirpur.
On these moments, Station Director, FM-93, Muhammad Shakeel apprised the AJK President of the objectives of the facility, now beaming signal to a vast terrain in and around Mirpur. The Station Director informed that the transmission would start at 5.45 am and continue till 12 midnight without any break. The radio would transmit news bulletins in Urdu and local languages daily for its Mirpur listeners and occupied Jammu Kashmir, he said.
The AJK President, Federal Information Secretary, DG PBC and MD APP recorded their felicitation messages in the FM-93 studios. In their messages, they expressed the hope that FM-93 would prove to be a strong force of infotainment for the people of AJK and occupied Kashmir. The FM radio Mirpur is a part of the government's endeavours to provide entertainment and information to the people of the remote areas.
