Main accused of Rustam Jamali's murder arrested

The Crime Investigation Department (CID) claimed to have arrested the main accused of the murder of Balochistan Excise and Taxation Minister Rustam Khan Jamali on Friday. According to details, a police party from CID on a tip off arrested Mohammad Taj outside a private bank on I.I. Chundrigar Road.
The accused was later shifted to CID Center and further investigations were underway. SP CID told Business Recorder that the detainee was a member of the gang which gunned down the Balochistan Minister, adding that his arrest was made after the police caught his accomplice Hayat Shah alias Sheena from Abbottabad.
After initial investigations Hayat Shah confessed the crime and named his three associates mastermind Mohammad Taj, Habibullah and Deen Mohammad, he added. It is pertinent to mention here that Balochistan Excise and Taxation Minister Rustam Khan Jamali, son of Sardar Yar Mohammad Jamali, was shot dead by armed persons in Block 16 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar on August 6, 2009, who had opened indiscriminate firing on the minister, leaving him seriously injured. Later, he succumbed to his wounds at a private hospital.
