'Gilgit incidents conspiracy against reforms package'

The people belonging to all walks of life have condemned the unfortunate incidents of violence that recently took place in parts of Gilgit. They said the recent incident was conspiracy against the Northern region. They demanded of the government to take action and bring the perpetrators of the crime to book immediately.
Talking to newsmen, Hafiz-ur-Rehman, President Pakistan Muslim League-N said that events were created to sabotage the political reforms and empowerment package as well as elections for legislative assembly. He said that government and law enforcing agencies should take strict measures to stop such heinous acts in future.
Expressing serious concern over the issues, he suggested that concrete steps should be taken by the law agencies to maintain permanent peace in this area. He said that involvement of external hands are very much possible. Amjad advocate, President Peoples Lawyer Forum said: "it is outcome of the designs of foreign hands, which are against the empowerment of the local people."
He urged the people to be united to foil the nefarious designs of the enemy. He said such tactics cannot demoralise the people of the area and added that PPP was gaining more popularity due to its public-friendly policies and welfare programmes.
A local leader of PPP Asif Gulab said that such incidents are always planned to sabotage the uplift of the area and warned tough action against those who carry out unfortunate incidents in the area. Mujahid Mansoori, a local councillor demanded of the government to expand City Police Station, and empower Rangers to maintain law and order properly in this region.
