Major reshuffle in hierarchy of Pakistan Army was carried out here on Saturday as many Principle Staff Officers were transferred and posted.
Pakistan Army high command approved the postings and transfers in view of the retirement of four three-star generals including Lieutenant General Shafqatullah Shah, Chief of Logistic Staff, Lieutenant General Raza Muhammed Khan, Director General, Joint Staff, Lieutenant General Masud Aslam, Corps Commander Peshawar, and Lieutenant General Muhammed Hamid Khan, President National Defence University (NDU), said a spokesman of Inter-Services public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
Four recently promoted Lieutenant Generals including Major General Naeem Khalid Khan, Major General Sardar Mehmud Ali Khan, Major General M Alam Khatak, and Major General Shafqat Ahmed will assume new ranks in place of retiring generals. Lieutenant General Naeem Khalid a recently promoted three-star general was posted as Corps Commander Bahawalpur, while another recently promoted three-star general Lieutenant General Muhammad Alam Khatak was appointed as Chief of Logistics Staff in General Headquarters, who will replace Lieutenant General Shafqatullah Shah.
Lieutenant General Sardar Mehmud Ali Khan was posted as Director General, Joint Staff headquarters who will replace the outgoing Lieutenant General Raza Muhammed Khan. Lieutenant General Muhammad Yousuf was appointed as new President of the National Defence University, Islamabad who will replace Lieutenant General Muhammed Hamid Khan on his retirement. Four Lieutenant Generals of the Pakistan Army were retiring from their service which was the main reason of the reshuffle in Pakistan Army hierarchy.
