Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 82,229 tonnes of cargo including 51,082 tonnes import and 31,147 tonnes export cargo including 2,940 empty and loaded containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 75,649 tonnes dry cargo including 44,464 tonnes containerised and general cargo; 14,500 tonnes coal; 4,201 tonnes fertiliser; 1,500 tonnes rock phosphate; 937 tonnes rapeseeds; 10,044 tonnes cement and 6,580 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely Sima Sahba, Cosco Osaka, Clipper Triumph, Khaled H and OSM Canopus sailed out to sea during the report period.
Five vessels viz Cap Gabriel, TS Jakarta, Romanos, Glory River and Empire Majapahit are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Empire Majapahit, TS Jakarta and Fany expected to sail on Saturday, while another two vessels Cap Gabriel and Glory River are expected to sail on Sunday.
Four vessels viz Hugli Spirit, Mare Internum, Eaststar and OXL Lotus due to arrive on Saturday, while another eight ships namely Quetta, Blossom, Bunga Raya Empat, Al-Axander, Najadi, Qatari Ibn Al-Fujaa, Daffodil and Queen Arrow-I are due to arrive on Sunday. Three ships namely Uni Promote, Bunga Raya Dua and APL Pusan are due to arrive on Monday.

Oil tanker Iron Monger-5 sailed out to sea on Saturday morning, while another three ships namely CV Maersk Novazzano, MV Aqua Grace and MV Wales-II are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total of four vessels viz Nostos, Memphis, Super Star-II and Tekeze scheduled to load/offload furnace oil and cement are currently at the outer anchorage.
Eight ships namely CV Maersk Novazzano, CV MSC Alpana, MV Aqua Grace, MV Wales-II, MV Yeng Cheng, MV Luxury Sun, MT New Toyokaze and MT Iron Monger-5 are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, sugar, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely MT Nostos, MV Super Star-II and MV Tekeze scheduled to load/offload containers and cement are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Saturday. One vessel viz MT New Toyokaze with palm oil is due to arrive on Sunday, while container ship manely Maersk Corolina is due to arrive on Monday. Six ships namely Alaska-II, KIA Al-Fujaa, Cape Martine, Nedlloyed Africa, Ville D'Orion and ACX Rafflesia with sulpfur and containers are also expected to arrive.
