Surprise inspection held to check performance 1,413: 'sastay tandoors' functional in Faisalabad

As many as 1,413 'Sastay tandoors', under Chief Minister Sasti Roti Programme, are functional in the Faisalabad district and 6,333 bags of 20 kg each are being supplied at the subsidised rate to these tandoors daily. This was informed by DCO Saeed Wahlah during the surprise inspection of sastay tandoors in the different localities of the city.
He visited Satiana road, Sargodha road, Islam Nagar and other areas and checked the weight and quality of the sasti roti. He also inquired the people gathered there about the availability of 100 gram weight sasti roti at Rs 2. He directed the EDO Community Development to get the banners regarding sasti roti programme at conspicuous places of tandoors premises displayed to inform the general public.
He directed that the supply of subsidised flour should immediately be stopped to those tandoor owners who are not complying with the guidelines of the sasti roti programme. Meanwhile, DCO Saeed Wahlah also visited Crescent Sugar Mills and inspected sugar stock position there.
He was told that 19,292 bags of 50 kg sugar were available in the stock. He directed the sugar mills management that sale of sugar should immediately be stopped as per the direction of the Punjab government, violation in this regard would not be tolerated. EDO Chaudhry Nawaz, DO Enterprises Shahbaz Khan, DDOR City Irfanullah, DDO (HRM) Zaigham Nawaz and other officers were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, the DCO presided over a meeting of Price Control Magistrates and informed that the stock of 275,000 bags of 50 kg sugar are available in the six sugar mills in the district, which have been taken under control and revenue staff and police force had been deployed there.
He told that the entire details regarding the sugar stock had also been collected from the management of sugar mills. He said that the sale of sugar in local market at the rate of Rs 40 would be ensured in compliance with the orders of Supreme Court and High Court.
He directed the Price Control Magistrates to get the Punjab government orders implemented and play their role for the surveillance sugar stock and supply.
