Four Kapco turbines shut down for maintenance

Four gas turbine of Kot Addu Power Company (Kapco) have been shut down for necessary maintenance work. Six out of the 10 turbines of the company are working, which are generating only 740MW electricity. The turbine No 4, 5, 13 and 14 have been shut down for necessary maintenance. The total electricity generation of Kapco is 1660 MW.
Besides, a turbine of Muzaffargarh Thermal Power Plant is also out of commission. This has led to decline in electricity production that further deteriorated the power supply situation and load shedding duration has been increased.
