Security forces have killed nine hardcore terrorists including three most wanted commanders during the ongoing 'Operation Rah-e-Raast' in Swat and other parts of Malakand Division while 20 terrorists were arrested and 26 voluntarily surrendered.
Security forces have also found a tunnel in the house of a notorious terrorist, Saeed, during a search operation in Chhaprial area of Swat and recovered arms, ammunition and explosive, said a spokesman of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) here on Sunday.
He said that security forces along with local militia 'Lashkar' have conducted a search operation at Banjeer village bordering Swat and Buner districts. During the operation terrorists attacked security forces which was repulsed and six terrorists including three commanders Younis, Noorul Amin and Fazal-e-Rabi were killed, he said, adding that the terrorist commanders who were killed in the operation were from Kota of Tehsil Barikot of Swat district and were wanted by forces in various cases.
Security forces along with 'Lashkar' have also conducted a joint search operation in Mora areas near Najigram during which they collided with terrorists and in the battle three terrorists were killed, while 16 suspected terrorists were arrested during the operation.
The spokesman said that 13 terrorists have voluntarily surrendered to security forces at Drushkhela area of Swat Valley during a search operation. Seven other terrorists have also surrendered voluntarily to security forces at Barshaur and Nazarabad area of the mountainous valley, he added. During a search and clearance operation in Gwaleri and Chhaprial areas of Swat, six terrorists have voluntarily surrendered to security forces, he said. He said that security forces conducted search operation at Chhaprial area of Swat during which they arrested four suspected terrorists.
