Judicial officers asked to make NJP a success

Chief Justice Lahore High court (LHC) Khawaja Muhammad Sharif has asked the judicial officers to make National Judicial Policy (NJP) a success by hard work and honesty. He expressed these views on Monday while addressing inaugural ceremony of twelve weeks training course for newly appointed 18 additional district and sessions judges.
CJ said that the people had rendered countless sacrifices for the restoration of judiciary and now it was judiciary's turn to respond in same manner to come up to their expectations.
Masses are suffering from lot of miseries due to inordinate delay in their cases and now it is the responsibility of judiciary to lessen their difficulties, he said. He added that judges should not bow any worldly pressure and follow the example set by Chief Justice Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry by saying no to a dictator.
He exhorted judicial officers to decide cases in line with law and constitution and do not send innocent persons behind bar without applying judicial mind. Justice Mian Najam uz Zaman Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Khalil ur Rehamn (Retd), honorary consultant of Academy and others also attended the ceremony.
