BoKOA seeks Hoti's intervention in bank's affairs

06 Oct, 2009

Bank of Khyber's Officers Association (BoKOA) has sought the intervention of Chief Minister NWFP Ameer Haider Khan Hoti in the matter of the authoritarian attitude of the management of the bank towards the problems faced by its officials. In a press release issued here on Monday, the association has accused the management of adopting indifferent attitude towards the grievances of the employees of the bank.
It said that in the recent past, they approached the management with the request to solve some burning issues including staff promotions of the year 2008, pay raise and Eid bonuses. The association complained that they had held a series of meeting with the management of the bank, but nothing worthwhile had happened in this regard except fake promises.
The association said that they had also sent a written request to the Board of Directors, but all proved to be an exercise in futility and even after the lapse of considerable time; no tangible and concrete efforts were made to resolve staff problems. It said that the problems of staff have been increased manifold and many of skilled and experienced employees left the bank. The policy of the management has led to demoralisation and mental agony resulting in lowering their productivity and overall bank performance.-PR
