Islamabad police have decided to boost up the security measures and also check personnel in uniform of law enforcement agencies and vehicles displaying official number plates. The decision to this effect was made by the Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Kaleem Imam here in meeting held to review the security arrangements in the Capital.
To cope with the nefarious designs of the terrorists and to provide security to the citizens of Islamabad, the IGP said Islamabad Police would have to boost up security measures in the capital and more steps for its enhancement will be taken.
Syed Kaleem Imam, IGP Islamabad directed the participants that checking at all entry and exit points should be made more effective and personnel in police uniform and vehicles displaying official number plates should be checked.
The meeting was attended by DIG Headquarters Kamal ud Din Tipu, DIG Security Division Inyat Ullah Farooqi, SSP Operation Tahir Alam Khan, SSP Headquarters Muhammad Zubair Hashmi, SSP Traffic Dr Moeen Masood, SSP Security Ahsan Abbas, AIG Haleena Iqbal Saeed, AIG Special Branch Tariq Masood Yaseen, AIG Ehsan Sadiq, AIG Ahmad Mukarram including all SPs and DSPs.
Future strategy to enhance the security arrangements in the capital was chalked out and present scenario after bomb blast in UN office was also reviewed. The IGP directed the participants to ensure the security of public buildings and made foolproof security of foreign buildings.
