Special Investigation Group (SIG) of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has revealed that foreign intelligence agencies, including Blackwater penetrated in all parts of the country through private security agencies or the security companies run by foreigners, particularly in Islamabad.
The intelligence agencies particularly Blackwater, CIA, RAW, MI5 and MI6, which are also known as Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), spread their networks across the country through private security guard providing companies and monitoring the situation, an official of FIA disclosed this while talking to Business Recorder on Tuesday.
He said the provincial governments issued a limited number of licenses of non-prohibited arms to the private security agencies but the agency received information that many security agencies are using prohibited arms and recruited security guards, which is much higher in number that is sanctioned by the government at the time of registration. "Regional Security Officers (RSOs) working in foreign embassies, under the diplomatic cover, are supporting the private security providing companies to achieve their goals", he added.
Talking to Business Recorder, Chairman All Pakistan Security Agencies Association (APSAA) Brigadier Rashid (Retd), said that foreign hands might be involved in supporting some unregistered agencies to achieve their goals. He said around 500 private security agencies are working in the country out of 400 registered with provincial government, but 100 others neither registered nor the members of APSAA.
He said there are many private security agencies in Islamabad, which are either run by foreigners or foreigners, who retired from army, are operating them as security advisors and security consultants. "It is the law that no foreigner can operate or run a security company in Pakistan", the chairman said.
