ICAP chief elected UN experts body chairman

Asad Ali Shah, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP), has been elected as Chairman of the inter-governmental working group of experts on International Standards on Accounting and Reporting (ISAR) of the United Nations Commission on Trade and Development (Unctad).
ISAR is one of the largest international groups, within the accounting community, under the aegis of the United Nations, designed to enhance the quality of financial reporting, corporate disclosure and transparency. Besides experts from government ie, Ministry of Finance, Auditor General's departments, etc, participants include representatives of global standard-setters, regulators, professional bodies and organisations.
