An amount of Rs 50 million has been allocated by the "Punjab Sasti Roti Authority" for the programme of installation of mechanical tandoors in the different cities of the province while the numbers of manual tandoors are being enhanced from 12,000 to 20,000 with a view to provide Sasti Roti to the masses at their door steps in a smooth manner under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.
This was informed by the Co-ordinator Sasti Roti Authority Ali Haider Shah during a meeting held here DCO office committee room in which DCO Faisalabad Saeed Wahlah, DCO Jhang Asad Islam Mahni, DCO Chiniot Rana Muhammad Tahir, MPAs Kh. Muhammad Islam, Dr Gazala Rana, Iftikhar Baloch, Afshan Farooq, Khalil Tahir Sandhu, Amir Sahotra, Muhammad Masood Lali, EDO CD Chaudhry Nawaz, Deputy Director Food Amjad Saleem Sargana, DFCs, Labour officers and others officers of Faisalabad division participated.
The co-ordinator informed that interest free loans would be provided on soft terms for the installation of mechanical tandoors to the interested parties under Sasti Roti Programme. He asked the administrations of districts of Faisalabad division to identify the sites at the poor and slums colonies to finalise the planning in this regard.
The MPAs float their proposals to further improve the Sasti Roti Programme for the benefits of the poor masses and said that this programme should be expand upto the big towns and villages so that rural population could also be provided the fruits of the this welfare scheme. The DCOs while giving the briefing informed that as many as 1,417 Sastay Tandoors including two mechanical tandoors are operational in Faisalabad district while 113 Sastay Tandoors are working in Jhang district, 101 in Toba Tek Singh and 21 in Chiniot. They said that elaborated and affective mechanism has been adopted for the strict monitoring of Sasti Roti Programme for its transparent and fair running.
