US copper futures crept up in early business on Wednesday with the help of a steadier tone on Wall Street, but the combination of a stabilising dollar and caution ahead of the start to earnings season capped gains. Copper for December delivery up 1.10 cents at $2.7955 a lb by 10:25 am EDT (1425 GMT) on the New York Mercantile Exchange's COMEX division.
Range from $2.7510 to $2.8040. COMEX estimated futures volume at 12,066 lots by 10 am.
