The participants at inaugural ceremony of B.Ed training workshop demanded to set up the study centre and examination centre in the area of Bahara Kahu. The ceremony was held at Ghazali College for Women in Bahara Kahu on Friday by Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), said a news release issued here.
Regional Director, Islamabad Campus of the University, Syed Zia-ul-Hasnain Naqvi said AIOU is functioning to provide educational facilities to the nearest areas of these students around the country and progressing by many fold.
In the year 2000, the students belonged to Bahara Kahu appealed from the administration of Regional Campus of the university to set up the training centre in Bahara Kahu in wake of area's growing population. It was brought into their notice that Bahara Kahu is located on the national highway leading to Azad Kashmir, Murree and Galyat and its population exceeded from 500,000 as well as it has got the status of central city for the surrounding of more than fifteen villages, he said.
A training centre for B.Ed workshop was established in 2009 at Ghazali College for Women in Bahara Kahu in response of their demand. Today more than hundreds of female students are getting training in two groups.
